I see the Senate has voted to allow people to carry loaded guns in national parks and wildlife refuges. While the U.S. Senators are quite well paid by the American taxpayers, I guess the Gods of the NRA pay even better. One more reminder that we are, for the most part, governed by fools.

Our political “leaders” are simply lackeys for whoever owns them and their owners are certainly not the honest, hard working American people.

in hearing that college students will now (or soon?) be allowed to carry guns on campus, we had a good discussion here at home about it. my husband and son both agree that it’s a good thing for responsible, licensed people, including college students, to carry guns on campus….

I have been a gun owner now for 58 years. I own a dozen and nearly always carry one when hiking in the back country. I’m not opposed to guns.
However, I think that while it sounds like a good idea to have a gun readily accessible for defensive purposes, in the hands of someone who does not have the training to use it in a combat situation and who is not psychologically prepared to kill another person in order to defend his own life of the lives of others, a gun has the potential be be a very bad thing to have. Very, very, very few people have the training or the will to use one properly in those circumstances.
